Dr. Laura Farber is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in advanced cataract surgery, refractive laser procedures, treatment of glaucoma, dry eye disease, and more.  She serves the West Texas population with Christ-centered care, kindness, respect, wisdom, and surgical skillfulness.

When she was in middle school, Dr. Farber had her first eye exam and received glasses that made the world clearer and more vibrant. This sparked her interest in eye care and helping people see better.  Through college at the University of Texas at Dallas, she shadowed a prominent Dallas ophthalmologist, Dr. Elizabeth Vaughan.  The years at Dr. Vaughan’s office solidified Laura’s deep desire to become an ophthalmologist.

Dr. Farber went to medical school at the University of Texas at Houston where she led the Ophthalmology Student Association. At graduation, she was awarded the prestigious Gold Headed Cane Award from her classmates.

She completed ophthalmology training at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas where she was Chief Ophthalmology Resident.  This is also where she met her husband, Adam Farber, an Odessa and an interventional cardiologist.

Beyond her profession, Dr. Farber is a devoted wife and mother of three boys. Her creativity knows no bounds, whether she’s crafting, running, or engaging with her community. Known for her patience, insight, and ability to connect with anyone, she brings warmth and intelligence to everything she does.

With Dr, Farber, you’re not just receiving care—you’re gaining an advocate who sees you.
